Best Practice Conference - Zalakaros!

To showcase the two strategic projects (B-light, De-mine HUHR II) and selected projects of the First Call for Proposals within each of the eight Programme components, and taking a look back at this year’s seventh edition of European Co-operation Day, the Best Practice Conference of the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Co-operation Programme was held on 14 November in Zalakaros, Hungary.

The biggest public event of the Programme, after the Opening conference in Čakovec in September 2015 and the Nikola Šubić Zrinski opera performance at the Hungarian State Opera House in Budapest, hosted almost 200 participants with representation of 55 currently financed joint projects from Interreg V-A HUHR period.

The Conference was an opportunity to present selected projects within the First Call for Proposals and each of the eight Programme components, covering in a balanced way Croatian and Hungarian Lead Beneficiaries, furthermore border counties and bringing on the spot joint JS and LB co-operation.

It was a chance to share the experiences of the First Call for Proposals (CfP), hoping to inspire the potential beneficiaries of the new Call, furthermore to meet old and new partners in preparation for the future Second Call.
The Conference attracted high media attention, both from Hungarian and Croatian side, and both regional and national level.

Most notably, the event was visited by the Croatian national television (HRT) crew, regional centre in Osijek, who created a wider story on more than a decade of Hungarian-Croatian bilateral cross-border co-operation and its emblematic projects, which was published within the HRT 1 news bulletin.
