SmarterZOOS - Kick off Event in Pécs
UNIKOM d.o.o., the Lead Partner of the project SMARTER ZOOs (HUHR/2401/2.1W/014) and their partners are kicking off the project by an opening event to be held in Pécs, Hungary, on 27 March 2026.
The SMARTER ZOOs project brings together UNIKOM d.o.o. (Croatia), Pécsi Állatkert és Akvárium-Terrárium (Hungary) and EU Centar (Croatia) to implement innovative energy solutions in zoological gardens. The project focuses on improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the integration of renewable energy systems and smart building solutions. The project runs from February 2026 to January 2028 with a total budget of EUR 758,056.50 (80% EU co-financed).
At the conference, you will learn more about the planned interventions, including solar photovoltaic systems, biomass heating installations and energy-efficient building renovations, as well as the development of a cross-border energy monitoring methodology demonstrated in two zoos.
