Attractour- opening of visitors’ centre in Čakovec

Within the project "Revitalisation of cultural heritage into tourism attractions in Međimurje and Letenye area", Acronym: Attractour, Lead Beneficiary (Public Institution for the Development of the Međimurje County REDEA), establishing of the visitors’ centre in Čakovec has been one of the most important activities. 

A building in the former army barracks in Čakovec was refurbished (activity of the Beneficiary 1 within the project: Međimurska County) and converted into a tourism attraction with a visitor centre (including the cyclist info centre) acting as a central point for tourist information in Međimurje (activity of the Beneficiary 2 within the project: Tourism Board of Međimurska County).

A room of 35m2 was converted into a memorial space for the army barracks interpreting the historic course of events (with the use of modern technology in combination with existing artifacts).

A ceremonial opening of the visitors’ centre will be held on 12 December 2018 at 12.00 o'clock.
