Upcoming Public Consultation on Strategic Environmental Assessment

Decision on sending the Strategic Environmental Assessment Study for the Interreg VI-A Programme Hungary – Croatia 2021-2027 and draft Interreg VI-A Programme Hungary – Croatia 2021-2027 for public consultations

During the process of preparation of the Interreg VI-A Programme Hungary – Croatia 2021-2027 (hereinafter the Programme), in line with the provisions of the Croatian Environmental Protection Act (Official Gazette, No. 80/13, 153/13, 78/15, 12/18, 118/18), a strategic environmental assessment (SEA) procedure must be carried out.

Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds of the Republic of Croatia (MRDEUF) started the SEA procedure for the Programme on 21 December 2023, by adopting the Decision on initiating the SEA procedure for the Programme. Following the public consultations with interested stakeholders, MRDEUF adopted the Decision on the scope of the Strategic Environmental Assessment Study for the Programme.

Based on the adopted Decision, the Strategic Environmental Assessment Study (SEA Study) for the Programme has been developed and the MRDEUF adopted the Decision on sending the SEA Study and draft Programme for public consultations.

Public consultations will last from 29 January until 28 February 2024. On 29 January, Strategic Environmental Assessment Study for the Programme and Draft Interreg VI-A Programme Hungary – Croatia 2021-2027 will be published here and on the Programme website.

Within public discussion, a public presentation on SEA Study and draft Programme will be carried out via virtual conference on 13 February 2024 at 10 h. The link to the virtual conference will be published a few days in advance here. Suggestions, opinions and remarks can be sent in writing to the MRDEUF via post or via e-mail at danijela.merkler@mrrfeu.hr, by 28 February 2024. All suggestions, opinions and remarks that are not legibly written and submitted within the deadline will not be taken into account.
