The professional part of the project was coordinated by the local branches of two strong internationally recognized organisations, the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta and the Croatian Red Cross with the inclusion of further local organisations working in the same field. Their joint aim in the project was to improve the situation and integration of disadvantaged groups in the border area, with focus on the Roma population. The project served as a capacity-building opportunity for persons working with disadvantaged groups, for which a joint methodology was developed and piloted via a series of workshops with the local communities (István Akna area in Pécs, Hungary and two segregated areas in Darda, Croatia).
