Promoting healthy lifestyles and the beneficial influence of traditional sports on the development of children and youth, two sporting associations from the region, with an already established decades-long cooperation, joined forces to set-up a cross-border wrestling league and thus create critical mass needed to motivate more people to practice this often overlooked sport.
The project partners involved school children from both sides of the borders in joint competitions, both for girls and boys, dismantling the myth that wrestling was primarily a boys' sport and contributing to the principles of equal opportunities for all.
The equipment purchased within the project will give a chance to the new generations as well to get to know the sport and try it out.
