The aim of the project was to analyze the current waste management in the border region (Pécs-Osijek). The project has been completed with a guide so that a Hungarian Croatian waste management systems can be further developed, highlighting the cross-border collaborative possibilities, with particular emphasis on bio-waste. With the homemade composition of the green waste from the Osijek and Pécs sides, nearly 4,000 homemade containers have been distributed. Within the scope of workshops, the affected population is educated in one composition and one selective waste collection. In addition, waste management experts have examined changes in the composition and quantity of waste. Based on the results, both the local and the regional waste management became more manageable.
