NETGEO - Press Conference
The Lead Partner of NETGEO project, Local Goverment of Baranya County, marked the begining of implementation of the project by a press conference held in Komló, Hungary on 20 February 2026.
They summarized the planned activities of the 24-month project, which aims to create a unified, cross-border geotourism network, that way laying the foundation for the preparation of the Pannon Geopark and, in the long term, even for the award of the UNESCO Global Geopark title. The developments affect several settlements in Baranya County and are implemented in close professional cooperation with Croatian partners.
As a long-term strategic regional development goal, the project aims to establish Baranya's international geopark position, which can open a new dimension in the economic and tourist development of the cross-border region.
