De-mine HU-HR II, as a first ever Hungarian-Croatian cross-border strategic project, is a continuation of the previous successful and well-known operation financed from the Hungary-Croatia (IPA) CBC Programme 2007-2013. With further demining of the Croatian part of the border area and removal of UXO's (hand grenades, mortar shells etc...) on the Hungarian side, local population and tourists are enabled to use wider area for their activities, such as hunting and fishing tourism. It has also created safer environment for the development of rural tourism.

Within De-mine HU-HR II project duration of 24 months, 240 landmines and 66 UXOs were found and destroyed in Croatia, at two locations in Osječko-baranjska county alongside rivers Drava and Danube. At the same time 1431 kg of metal contamination (bombshells, grenades, ignition devices, machine gun ammunition…) was detected and destroyed on the Hungarian territory close to the border line.
